Responsibilities & Context

  • Manage the end-to-end import process, from purchase order issuance to delivery.

  • Coordinate with international suppliers to ensure timely and accurate shipment of goods.

  • Oversee logistics and transportation arrangements to ensure efficient delivery and storage.

  • Prepare, review, and manage import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.

  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.

  • Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth customs clearance.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and vendors.

  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to achieve optimal cost and timely delivery.

  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality and delivery timelines.

  • Monitor and manage import-related costs to ensure budget compliance.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the import process.

  • Analyze and report on import expenses, trends, and potential improvements.

  • Coordinate with the inventory management team to ensure adequate stock levels of imported goods.

  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to forecast demand and plan imports accordingly.

  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize overstock and stockouts.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on import activities, including shipment status, costs, and compliance issues.

  • Analyze import data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
