Responsibilities & Context
Manage the end-to-end import process, from purchase order issuance to delivery.
Coordinate with international suppliers to ensure timely and accurate shipment of goods.
Oversee logistics and transportation arrangements to ensure efficient delivery and storage.
Prepare, review, and manage import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to achieve optimal cost and timely delivery.
Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality and delivery timelines.
Monitor and manage import-related costs to ensure budget compliance.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the import process.
Analyze and report on import expenses, trends, and potential improvements.
Coordinate with the inventory management team to ensure adequate stock levels of imported goods.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to forecast demand and plan imports accordingly.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize overstock and stockouts.
Prepare and present regular reports on import activities, including shipment status, costs, and compliance issues.
Analyze import data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
